UK based DJ/Producer/Remixer, Pete’s musical career spans over the last two decades since he set up and co ran the infamous Atlas Records Shop in Soho in the early 90’s.
As a DJ Pete has since been plying his trade on dance floors all over the world, joining the dots musically with his unique style, taking in Disco, Balearic, House and all its mutations. Or similarly soundtracking sunsets and more laid-back affairs with his take on music for swimming pools, a style he has been pushing in his long running radio show and new record label of the same name.
Based in London, Pete has held residencies and played guest spots at many of the seminal dance institutions in that time such as Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, 333, The Blue Note, Sancho Panza at Notting Hill Carnival....He currently holds a bi monthly residency at La Dame Noir Club in Marseille, and also plays regularly during the summer months at events like Electric Elephant, Garden festival (Croatia), Mareh festival (Brazil) and at Lovebox, Festival No.6, Corona Sunsets, Masked Ball, Campo Sancho in the UK.
When not djing Pete can be found in the studio working on various music projects. As a solo artist Pete has released on countless labels including LA Dame Noir, Mareh, Retrofit, Tirk as well as notching up over 200 remixes for the likes of Röyksopp, Roots Manuva, Danielle Baldelli, Ilija Rudman, The Gimmers, Bottin, Faze Action, Tensnake to name a few, and is currently finishing an album with keyboard wiz Martin Denev in Bali... Other collaborations have included Optimus, Bushflange, LSB, Challenge, with John Shepheard and more recently with Dicky Trisco and Phil Mison...
Reverso 68 and Frontera are the studio based projects of Pete and Phil Mison. The two met many moons ago, when Pete was working the records shops in Soho, and Phil was djing at the cafe Del Mar in ibiza.
They’ve released singles on Eskimo Recordings and Is it Balearic as well as over 30 remixes for the likes of Grace Jones, Badly Drawn Boy, Bent, Wallis Bird, Lazyboy, Who Made Who, Tosca, Templehoff, Bawrut, The Two Mamarrachos...
Their first release Piece Together from 2003 became a seminal balearic/afro dance floor number, was reworked a couple of times by Todd Terje on Eskimo, and featured on countless compilations...
Thirteen years on the duo have re-tweaked and re-released it as part of their new EP on Pete’s label Music For Swimming Pools with some great DJ support from the likes of Horse meat Disco, Crazy P, Bill Brewster, Leo Mas, Max Essa, Peter Visti, Bonar Bradberry, KZA and DJ Harvey...
Over the last decade Pete has worked closely with Dicky Trisco, head honcho of Disco Deviance and countless other great labels. Forming a solid partnership through a shared love of music and the odd Aperol Spritz, they have gone on to produce many tracks, remixes and reworks, with artists such as Tensnake, Peza, Belle and Sebastien. They also run the labels Maxi Discs, which has been a platform for showcasing new and like minded artists and their more recent Paradise Row label, dedicated just to releases from the duo themselves.. Volume Three has just hit the shops..
They also play regularly together, back to back and all night long, some recent highlights have been: the closing set at Electric Elephant festival, Croatia, and Mareh Festival boat party in Brazil...
